English Language &
U.S. Cultural Training
Learning English is about more than just grammar and vocabulary — it’s about being able to express yourself, connecting with others, and navigating everyday and professional situations with confidence. It’s also about understanding cultural context and communicating in a way that feels natural and authentic.
I work with both individual learners and businesses—offering personalized English language training, U.S. cultural training, and and support in navigating intercultural communication to help individuals, teams, and global organizations communicate more confidently across cultures.
That’s where I come in. I offer personalized English language instruction that supports learners at any level, blending practical language skills with cultural awareness and real‑world communication practice. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Pace University, TEFL certification through The TEFL Academy (currently in final Ofqual processing), and more than twenty years of experience in marketing communications across nonprofits and corporate leadership roles in the global relocation industry, I bring real‑world

expertise and a warm, supportive, tailored approach to every session. My years of living and working as a digital nomad have also given me personal insight into what it feels like to step into a new culture. I draw on that experience to help learners navigate language and cultural differences with confidence. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, confident, and capable — no matter where you are in your learning journey.
LET’S WORK TOGETHER
Are you hoping to strengthen your everyday English, feel more confident speaking in professional settings, or improve your pronunciation so you’re clearly understood? Do you want help navigating U.S. cultural expectations socially or at work? Whatever your goals, I’d love to support you through a program that we’ll tailor to your needs. Connect with me below; I’m here to help you grow at your own pace, in a way that's both encouraging and accessible.
MY UNIQUE APPROACH
While I teach the English language in a way that supports both U.S. and U.K. usage, I also offer optional training in U.S. cultural norms and values — including the everyday social expectations, non‑verbal cues, and underlying cultural principles that shape how Americans interact in daily life. This combination of language learning and cultural insight is an advantage, helping you understand not just the words themselves, but how communication works in U.S. contexts, so you can navigate interactions with greater ease and confidence. It’s an area of specialty for me, shaped by years of intercultural work, and something I bring into lessons whenever it supports your goals.
WAYS I CAN HELP
English Language Training
I work with learners at all levels to build English skills that support everyday life in countries where either U.K. or American English is used. This includes strengthening grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and overall comfort using English in real conversations. As learners progress, we spend time refining accuracy and building confidence in more complex or fast‑moving interactions. As an option, if you’re relocating to the United States or simply communicating across cultures with U.S. speakers, we can also explore U.S. cultural norms, communication styles, and intercultural insights that help your conversations feel more natural and comfortable. Whatever approach we take, we always move at a pace that feels right for you.
Pronunciation Skills
Pronunciation coaching is one of my favorite areas to teach. Drawing on my background in theater, I help intermediate and advanced learners improve articulation, rhythm, stress, and vocal clarity in a way that feels natural and supportive. If you’re in a public‑facing role or preparing for presentations, interviews, or client conversations, we’ll work on speaking comfortably and confidently so your message comes through clearly in personal, professional, or academic scenarios.
Business English
Learners who want to focus specifically on Business English can work with me on the communication skills needed to succeed in professional environments. This includes written communication: structuring clear, concise, and polite emails; writing executive reports; drafting proposals and speeches; and creating professional documentation. We also work on language for meetings and conference calls, including how to lead formal meetings, interrupt politely, state opinions confidently, and participate comfortably in workplace English-speaking discussions. If you’re preparing for presentations, interviews, or persuasive communication—from pitching ideas to presenting recommendations—we’ll focus on speaking with clarity and confidence, engaging your audience, and mastering the small talk that helps build relationships in business settings. These sessions can also include support with business idioms and jargon, which are often used in everyday workplace communication.
Business Writing
Clear writing is an essential part of communication, especially in professional environments. I help learners strengthen tone, structure, conciseness, and clarity in emails, messages, and workplace documents. Whether you’re writing to colleagues, clients, or company leadership, we’ll work together to make sure your communication is polished, effective, and easy to understand. Business Writing can be a standalone focus or part of a broader learning plan, whatever supports your goals best.
Business Cultural Expectations
For learners who need support navigating U.S. business environments, I offer training in U.S. business cultural norms and workplace expectations that shape professional interactions. We explore U.S. corporate values like responsiveness, achievement, punctuality, and individualism, along with expectations around self‑reliance, personal space, and what’s appropriate to share (or keep to yourself) in professional settings. We also look closely at non‑verbal cues, relationship‑building practices, and the subtle ways rapport is created with U.S. clients and colleagues. This work helps you understand the cultural context behind U.S. workplace behavior, making it easier to participate confidently in meetings, collaborate with teams, and navigate everyday professional interactions.
A Combined Approach
Many professional learners choose to blend Business English with Business Writing and/or U.S. Business Cultural Norms training for a well‑rounded learning experience. This combined approach strengthens office language skills while also giving you insight into the cultural expectations that shape how Americans communicate, collaborate, and make decisions at work. The result is a meaningful advantage: you’ll not only improve your English, but also learn how to interpret and respond to the nuances of U.S. workplace behavior. With decades of experience in global corporate communications, talent relocation, and intercultural work, I offer a combined approach that gives you a fuller understanding of communication than language training alone can provide. Together, we’ll tailor your lessons to help you feel confident, prepared, and culturally aware — whether you’re stepping into new opportunities, working with American colleagues, or simply wanting to communicate more effectively in U.S. professional settings.
